Sodick VL series
The VL series wire EDMs feature a latest-generation numerical control system, “LN2W”, which achieves exceptional performance at high speeds while maintaining a high level of precision and efficiency in the machining process.
They are equipped with linear motors that allow high-speed axis movement with rapid response to the CNC, and the absence of wear that normally occurs in machines using ball screws.
The VL series uses ceramic for the most critical parts as it has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, is lightweight, has high stiffness values, has high resistance to ageing and excellent electrical insulation properties. It is therefore the ideal material for making a leading machine in high-quality EDM.
